According to reports, this app could be launched by the end of 2025.
Currently, UIDAI’s m-Aadhaar app is available, which only allows for the storage of Aadhaar data. However, the new e-Aadhaar app will enable direct Aadhaar details updates. This will eliminate the need for citizens to visit Aadhaar centers for minor updates.
Security will be enhanced by AI and facial recognition
UIDAI does not want to compromise on security, so the e-Aadhaar app will be equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and facial recognition technology. This technology will significantly reduce identity fraud and make the entire update process highly secure.
This app will automatically extract essential details from the user’s government documents, such as PAN card, passport, driving license, or ration card, making the update process faster.
How to update Aadhaar through the e-Aadhaar app
The entire process of updating Aadhaar is very simple and can be completed in a few steps:
First, download the e-Aadhaar app on your mobile phone.
Click on the ‘Update Aadhaar’ option and enter your Aadhaar number or Virtual ID.
An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number for login, which you will need to enter.
Now, select the information you want to update and upload the relevant documents.
After submitting the form, UIDAI will verify your documents.
After verification, your Aadhaar details will be updated within 3 to 5 days, and you will receive a notification via SMS or email.
