When will banks be closed nationwide?
The key bank holidays in India for June 2026 include the second Saturday, fourth Saturday, and Sunday. As per RBI guidelines, all public and private banks shut down on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. In June, the second Saturday is on June 13th, and the fourth Saturday is on June 27th. Moreover, Muharram will be observed as a holiday on June 26th in various states and major cities. Additionally, banks will be closed every Sunday.

June also features several regional festivals and anniversaries, leading to additional bank holidays in certain states. For instance, banks will be closed on June 15th for Raja Sankranti in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and on YMA Day in Aizawl, Mizoram. Haryana will have a holiday on June 17th for Maharana Pratap Jayanti. On June 18th, banks in Punjab will close to commemorate the Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji. Furthermore, banks may also be closed in Punjab, Haryana, and Shimla on June 29th for Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti. Lastly, banks in Aizawl will be closed on June 30th for the Remna Ni festival.
Digital banking services will remain operational
Although bank branches will remain closed, customers need not worry as digital banking services will be available 24 hours a day. Services like UPI, Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, net banking, mobile banking, and ATM withdrawals will function normally. People will be able to easily perform online transactions, bill payments, and balance checks.
