Bank Close: According to the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday schedule, both public and private banks will be closed from March 13 to 16 in certain regions of the country. On March 14 (Friday), most states will observe a bank holiday in celebration of Holi; however, banks will remain operational in Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Kerala, and Nagaland. The RBI’s 2025 calendar indicates that banks will be closed for three consecutive days, leading to increased confusion regarding bank holidays in the upcoming week, as reflected in Google Search Trends.

On March 13 (Thursday), banks will be closed in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Kerala, and select cities. On March 14 (Friday), while most states will observe a holiday for Holi, banks will continue to operate in Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Kerala, and Nagaland. Specific cities where banks will be closed include Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, and Srinagar.

On March 15 (Saturday), banks will also be closed in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Imphal, and Patna.

All banks will be closed on March 16 (Sunday) due to the weekly holiday.

– March 31 (Monday): Most states will not have bank operations, except for Himachal Pradesh and Mizoram.
