ABC ID: Mandatory for All Students — Create It in Minutes with This Easy Guide

The Academic Bank of Credit or ABC ID has become a very important document for students. It is now mandatory for many academic tasks, including form filling in colleges and universities. Without this ID, your application form may even get rejected. The good thing is that you can create this ID very easily through the DigiLocker platform. In this report, we explain each step to create an ABC ID using DigiLocker.

If somebody does not have a DigiLocker account, they must create this one first. If somebody already have an account, then they can simply log in and follow the next steps.

How to Create an ABC ID Through DigiLocker

Step 1: Open DigiLocker and Sign Up

First, open your mobile or computer browser and search for “DigiLocker” on Google.

Click on the official website (digilocker.gov.in).

On the homepage, click on the “Sign Up” option.

A registration form will appear. Fill it with the correct details from your Aadhaar card:

• Full Name
• Date of Birth
• Gender
• Mobile Number
• Email ID

Create a 6-digit security PIN (this will be your password)

After entering all the details, click “Submit.”

You will receive an OTP on your mobile number. Enter the OTP and submit it.

Your DigiLocker account will now be created.

Step 2: Sign In and Search for ABC ID

1. Go back to the homepage and click on “Sign In.”
2. Log in with your mobile number and the 6-digit PIN. An OTP will again come to your phone. Enter it to open your profile.
3. From the left menu, click on “Search Documents.”
4. Type “ABC ID” or “Academic Bank of Credit” in the search bar.

Step 3: Fill Details and Generate Your ABC ID

Select “ABC ID Card” from the search results.

On the next page, your name, date of birth, and gender will show automatically from your Aadhaar.

Now fill the remaining fields:

• Identity Type: Choose the correct option (Roll Number, Registration Number, New Admission, etc.)
• Identity Value: Enter the number linked to the Identity Type
• Admission Year: Select the year you joined your current course
• Institution Name: Search and select your school, college, or university

After entering all details, tick the checkbox and click “Get Document.”

Your ABC ID Card will be generated.

You can view and download it from the “Issued Documents” section.

The PDF will have your photo, name, and a unique 12-digit ABC ID number.
