Tata Motors has begun booking the Harrier EV from July 2. Anyone can book this electric SUV with a token of ₹21,000. This is Tata’s biggest electric vehicle till date, launched on June 6. The Harrier EV is available in five trim levels — Adventure, Adventure-S, Fearless Plus, Empowered, and Empowered AWD — offering customers several options. Harrier EV’s ex-showroom price begins at ₹21.49 lakh and reaches ₹30.23 lakh, which makes it a desirable premium electric variant.

AWD Electric SUV with Off-Road Capability

Harrier EV is Tata’s inaugural electric vehicle with an AWD system, making it capable of off-road travel. It is now the sole Tata electric model that is equipped with AWD technology, which will make it easier to navigate harsh terrains. Customers also have the choice of two batteries and two motors to meet their requirements.

The entry-level model of Harrier EV is powered by a 65 kWh battery pack, which provides an MIDC range of 538 km. In contrast, the highest variant comes equipped with a 75 kWh battery pack with two drivetrain options, namely RWD and QWD. The RWD model churns out 235 bhp and 315 Nm torque, whereas the QWD model generates 391 bhp and 504 Nm torque. The flagship model boasts a noteworthy range of up to 627 km on a single charge, placing it in a dominant position in the premium electric SUV segment.

Interior and Features

The inside of the Harrier EV is largely identical to its diesel counterpart. It retains a dual-tone cabin, though the finish will depend on the variant chosen. There’s a 10.25-inch digital instrument display accompanied by a refreshed 14.5-inch Samsung Neo QLED touchscreen infotainment system inside. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are on offer, which is handy for phone users.

Exterior Design

Harrier EV retains much of the styling seen on the petrol-diesel Harrier but has subtle changes for its electric character. There is a solid front grille, as in electric cars, and the front bumper is redesigned with satin silver vertical slats to aid in cooling the battery pack and motors. The side profile is quite similar to the ICE version but is different because of greater 18-inch alloy wheels, making it have a strong and bold stance on the road.
