There’s good news for SUV lovers. After a long wait, the Tata Sierra is finally set to make its grand comeback in 2025. The carmaker recently shot its TVC, which will feature both the old Sierra and the new model. While an official launch date hasn’t been announced yet, reports suggest the SUV will go on sale in the Indian market in November or December 2025.

Performance

According to earlier reports, the Sierra will first come with an electric powertrain, and the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) version will be introduced in January 2026. However, latest reports suggest that both powertrain options will be available at launch. The EV version is likely to use the Harrier EV’s powertrain. Higher trims will also have the option of dual-motor and AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system.

The Tata Sierra petrol version is likely to come with 1.5L naturally aspirated and 1.5L turbocharged engine options, although the turbo petrol engine may be introduced later. The diesel model will have a 2.0L turbo engine, which is shared with the Harrier and Safari. In terms of transmission, the Sierra will have both manual and automatic options.

Design

Talking about design, leaked photos and videos showed that the new Tata Sierra will have triple screen setup. This will include a touchscreen infotainment at the center, a full digital display for the driver, and a separate screen for the front-seated passenger. In addition there will also be illuminated logo with touch-based HVAC controls, physical toggles, and flat-bottom steering wheel.
