The Indian electric scooter market is growing rapidly, and River has launched a new version of its popular Indie. This time, the company has introduced it with several mechanical and technological upgrades. Most notably, the scooter now comes with a Hill-Hold Assist feature, making it even more unique in its segment.

Additionally, the new Indie Gen 3 receives an updated instrument console. It now clearly displays range and charging details. App connectivity has also been improved, allowing riders to easily access information such as real-time charging status, ride statistics, and customized data points.

The biggest technology upgrade is hill-hold assist, which prevents the scooter from rolling backward when climbing. This feature is especially beneficial for riders who frequently ride hilly terrain or slopes.
Technology
River has made not only technological but also mechanical upgrades to this scooter. The new model features upgraded tires with better grip, providing greater stability and control on the road.
The company also says it has improved riding dynamics based on rider feedback. This means the Indie Gen 3 is not only more powerful but also offers a smoother and more balanced riding experience.

Performance
However, the Indie Gen 3 is powered by a 4 kWh battery pack with a range of up to 163 kilometers. This means you can travel long distances with confidence on a single charge.
This scooter is powered by a 6.7 kW electric motor, which propels it to a top speed of 90 km/h. The company claims that charging the battery from 0 to 80% takes approximately 5 hours.

The new River Indie Gen 3 is priced at ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Bangalore). In this price range, this scooter could prove to be a strong player in the market, not only due to its practicality but also its advanced features and strong range.
