Tata Motors has launched the Punch EV in two different battery options, catering to customer needs. The biggest strength of the 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift is its charging speed and efficiency. Tata has refined its e-drive calibration and algorithms to enable you to cover more distance in less time. The car fully supports 65 kW DC fast charging. The company claims that if you connect it to a fast charger, it will charge from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes.
If you’re in a hurry and traveling on a highway, just 15 minutes of charging will provide you with an additional 135 km of travel. Improvements to the e-drive system reduce energy consumption and make the driving experience smoother and more refined than ever before.

Performance and Durability

The Punch EV is designed not only for city driving but also for tackling rough roads and rainwater. Tata has provided it with a robust ground clearance of 195 mm, making it a great contender for rough terrain and deep potholes. Additionally, its 450 mm water wading capacity ensures that your car runs smoothly even on waterlogged roads during the monsoon.
Performance-wise, it’s no less than a sports car, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9 seconds. To enhance the driving experience, it features multiple drive modes and a 4-level regenerative braking system controlled via paddle shifters, which helps automatically charge the battery when driving on slopes.

BaaS Model

In a revolutionary change to its sales strategy, Tata Motors has introduced a ‘Battery-as-a-Service’ (BaaS) option with the Punch EV. Under this model, customers can purchase the car without paying the full cost of the battery, significantly reducing the car’s initial showroom price. Customers pay a separate per-kilometer or fixed monthly rental fee for the battery.
