Mahindra is preparing to deliver another major surprise to the Indian SUV market. Just as the company rebranded the XUV 300 as the XUV 3XO, the same formula is now being applied to the more premium XUV 700. In the near future, Mahindra will introduce an updated version of this popular SUV with the new name, the XUV 7XO. Its official debut is scheduled for January 5, 2026, and the recent teaser release has only increased curiosity.

Mahindra XUV 7XO
Let me tell you that XUV 700 has made a different identity in the market since 2021 with its features, performance and pricing. Now Mahindra has prepared to launch another premium SUV, the XUV 7XO, on this strong base.
The teaser features a glimpse of the front and rear profiles, with new LED elements drawing the most attention. Mahindra has designed it with a completely new lighting signature so that the XUV 7XO looks completely different and modern from its previous generation.
New LED Signature
Looking at its teaser, it is clear that this SUV will be equipped with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs at the front, which gives it the look of a premium electric SUV. The rear has an inverted L-shaped LED signature, which is combined with a horizontal light bar to give it a futuristic appeal. This design seems to be largely inspired by the company’s XEV 9S electric SUV.
New color options, redesign alloy wheels, updated grille and sporty bumpers are expected to be included. The body size is less likely to change, as its basic profile will remain the same as the XUV 700.
Engine
The Mahindra XUV 7XO is likely to get the same reliable engine options if it comes to engines. 2.2L mHawk diesel engine and 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol engine. The 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox options will also continue with this. This means that Mahindra is paying more attention to features and tech oriented updates than any kind of mechanical change.

Triple Screen Cabin
The biggest highlight of the Mahindra XUV 7XO will be its new cabin layout. Like the XEV 9S and XEV 9E it will be given triple screen setup, making it one of the most modern interiors in the segment.
The company will make it its first ICE-powered SUV with a futuristic layout. Features of which may include 5G connection, Boss mode (eg XUV 700, but more advanced form) and Built-in Alexa support. Dashboards, centre console, HVAC vents, steering wheel and cabin materials will all be new. Mahindra aims to make this SUV more premium and tech-focused.
