Mahindra Vision S SUV – Coming soon with Diesel Automatic, Panoramic Sunroof and a powerful boxy design

Mahindra Vision S SUV – Mahindra’s SUVs have always been making their mark on Indian roads, and now the company is in the limelight with another new name. The Mahindra Vision S SUV has once again been spotted during testing, giving clear indications that this model has now reached very close to launch.

The new spy photos not only make its design more clear, but also reveal important information related to its powertrain and features. The special thing is that Vision S is going to be a premium and lifestyle feel cart despite being a sub-4 meter SUV.

Design

Mahindra Vision S was completely in camouflage during testing, but despite this its stance was not hidden. The design of the SUV comes with straight, elevated and flat panels. Squared Aegis and Boxy Shape give it a tuff and muscular character, which is rarely seen in compact SUVs nowadays.

The design seems inspired by an off-roader, but has been adapted into a city-friendly form. Its advantage will not be limited to the look, but it will also be seen in the cabin space. Boxy shape is expected to provide better headroom and more useful interior.

Diesel Automatic Confirmed

The biggest information revealed from the new spy photos is Vision S’s diesel engine and automatic gearbox. The AdBlue cap shown near the fuel filler confirms that the BS6 Phase-2 diesel engine will be delivered to the SUV.

In addition, the gear lever inside the cabin looks clear that this test model is with automatic transmission. This update is quite important, as diesel automatic options are rarely found in the sub-4 meter SUV segment. In such a situation, Mahindra Vision S can make a strong edge over its rivals.

Mid-Spec Variant

The model seen during testing is a mid-spec variant. This can be estimated from halogen indicators instead of LED. The cabin also sees fabric seat upholstery and Mahindra’s regular steering wheel, indicating that it is not a top-end version.

This means that Mahindra Vision S will be introduced in many variants keeping in mind different budgets and needs, so that more and more buyers can be reached.

Interior

The interior of the Vision S seems largely inspired by the concept model shown last year. There are not much changes to the dashboard layout and air vents, which can be considered a good thing. Mahindra has retained physical buttons here instead of adopting a fully touch-based approach.

Physical buttons provided for infotainment and climate control make everyday use easier. Also, the SUV has a large touchscreen infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, giving the cabin a modern and take-loaded feel.

Panoramic Sunroof

Mahindra Vision S’s largest highlight is its panoramic sunroof. This glass roof is seen extending almost to the rear seats. This feature is still quite rare in the sub-4 meter SUV segment.

The cabin will feel more open and airy due to the sunroof, which can attract both family and young buyers. This feature will play a key role in giving Vision S a premium identity in its segment.

Launch

Mahindra Vision S will be tested for a few more months, and after that, it could be launched in the Indian market. This SUV is expected to be based on Mahindra’s NU IQ platform. In addition to the diesel automatic, it is also likely to be offered with a petrol engine option.
