Production of Toyota Land Cruiser FJ has officially started and this SUV is going to launch in Japan on 14 May 2026.

Platform
Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is designed on a body-on-frame IMV platform. It is the same platform on which strong carts like Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova Crysta and Toyota Hilux are based. That is, despite the size being small, there is no compromise in strength.
Talking about dimensions, Land Cruiser FJ has a length of 4575mm, width 1855mm and height 1960mm. Its wheelbase is 2580mm, which helps to provide better stability and space. Boot space is also quite large, around 765 liters.
Engine Options
Talking of the engine Toyota Land Cruiser FJ will be introduced in the global market with a 2.7-liter petrol engine, which generates 163hp power and 246Nm torque. The picture may be slightly different for India. According to current information, the diesel engine cannot be delivered directly to the India-Spec model, but it is expected that Toyota may offer a 2.8-liter diesel engine with a micro-hybrid setup.
In addition, Land Cruiser FJ in India can also be launched with Strong Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid options. There is a possibility of getting a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox for transmission. The SUV will have a part-time 4WD system standard, making it a true off-roader.

Design
Talking about design, Toyota Land Cruiser FJ seems to be no less than its elder siblings. Its look is straight, boxy and fully rugged. The front features a rectangular grill with a gloss black finish, with a large ‘TOYOTA’ written in a classic style.
C-shape LED DRLs, strong bumpers, fog lamps and silver skid plates give it the character of a real off-road SUV. Flared fenders, wide wheel arch and thick black cladding in the side profile further enhance its muscular appeal.

The rear features a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and chunky bumpers, reminding it of old school off-roaders. Overall, this SUV is similar to what is expected from a Land Cruiser.
