Honda Activa Production Halted! Know What’s the Reason?

New Delhi: Honda Activa scooters have been a popular choice on the country’s roads. People from rural to urban areas are enthusiastic about purchasing them. They are also considered a brand. But did you know that the Honda Activa electric scooter has ceased production? This may seem surprising, but it’s 100% true.

The company has taken a major decision and discontinued the Honda Activa, launched six months ago. Honda showrooms are not receiving even new Activa electric units, which are being discussed. The petrol version remains in full supply. Some reports have indicated the electric version’s discontinuation, which is being considered a setback for customers.

Honda launched the Activa electric scooter in February with the aim of competing with electric versions from Bajaj and Ola. According to industry reports, six months after its launch, this model is now out of production. This means it failed to meet expectations, let alone receive a favourable response.

Due to this reason, the company completely discontinued the production of the Activa Electric to save costs. The petrol variant of the Honda Activa scooter was quite popular, but the electric variant was not. This variant completely dashed Honda’s hopes. The lack of new variants arriving in showrooms is being considered a production shutdown. This is also being seen as a setback for the company.

Honda’s Expectations Dashed

The Honda Activa Electric version saw little traction from its launch. The company produced a total of 11,168 units of the Activa and QC1 electric scooters. By July, only 5,201 units of both models had been sold.

Of these, the total sales of the Activa electric version were only 698 units. Furthermore, not even 1,000 units were sold in six months. This prompted Honda to consider discontinuing its The company is looking for reasons for low sales

Honda Activa Electric dashed the company’s hopes. The reasons behind this model’s poor sales are currently being investigated. It had significant market potential. Despite this, the brand lacked a concrete plan and a robust infrastructure network.

After its launch in February, it was initially sold in just one city (Bangalore). A few days later, models began arriving in Delhi and Mumbai showrooms. The model hasn’t been seen in showrooms in any other cities. Based on this, it’s believed the company has discontinued production.
