Design and Ergonomics

Looking at this bike, it feels like a racetrack champion has taken to the streets in plain clothes. Ducati removed all unnecessary components from the Panigale platform while designing it, allowing its mechanical aesthetics to be clearly visible. Its sharp bodywork and new design language focus squarely on the front. The full-LED headlamp with its DRLs creates a distinct identity, while the chiseled tail section and new black six-spoke Y-profile wheels give it a premium and race-inspired look. Special attention has also been paid to ride comfort. The wide handlebar, optimized seat shape, adjustable levers, and ergonomic tank design will ensure complete control in city traffic and enjoy long weekend rides.

Engine and Power

The true strength of any bike is its engine, and the Streetfighter V2 is a true champion in this regard. Powered by Ducati’s new 890cc 90° V-twin engine, it is the lightest twin-cylinder engine the company has ever produced, weighing just 54.4 kg. This engine produces 120 hp at 10,750 rpm and 93.3 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm. Most notably, it delivers over 70% of its total torque at a low speed of 3,000 rpm, which means you’ll experience rapid acceleration even in traffic. For those who prefer to hit the track, Ducati is also offering a racing exhaust, which increases power to 126 hp and reduces weight by 4.5 kg. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring the latest Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0 and a lightweight slipper clutch, making downshifting smooth and urban riding a breeze.

Platform and Performance

The bike is built on a compact monocoque frame, with the engine used as a stressed member. This gives the bike extraordinary weight distribution and excellent precision. The base variant of the Streetfighter V2 features a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork and a Kayaba rear shock, while the V2 S variant features a premium fully adjustable Öhlins NIX-30 fork and an Öhlins rear shock. The V2 S weighs 175 kg, while the standard V2 weighs 178 kg, making it the lightest Streetfighter series ever produced by Ducati. Braking is handled by Brembo M50 monoblock calipers and 320 mm discs, while Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires (190/55 rear) provide grip. A Sachs steering damper is standard for high-speed stability.

A Treasure Trove

If you’re thinking this bike has more than just power, but also brains, you’re absolutely right. The Streetfighter V2 is packed with race-derived electronics, controlled by a 6-axis IMU. Features include cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0, and Engine Brake Control (EBC). Riders can choose from four riding modes: Race, Sport, Road, and Wet, which can be customized in three different interface themes via the new 5-inch TFT display.
