J&K Security Alert: Sunday evening was quite tense in Jammu and Kashmir. Not one or two, but at least five suspected Pakistani drones were spotted hovering near the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) in Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch districts. Upon detecting these drones, security agencies immediately swung into action and launched a search operation across the entire area.
Where were these ‘flying conspiracies’ spotted?
According to officials, these drones entered Indian airspace from across the border and, after hovering over sensitive locations for some time, returned towards Pakistan.

Was it an attempt to drop weapons?
Security forces suspect that these drones may have been used to drop weapons, drugs, or other prohibited items. Due to this fear, the army and police conducted a joint search operation in the darkness of the night to recover anything that might have been dropped. This is not the first time. Recently, a cache of weapons was recovered in Palura village of Samba, which included two pistols, three magazines, and grenades.
The investigation revealed that these were also sent across the border via a drone. The frequent sightings of drones at the border are becoming a major security challenge. Currently, every inch of the area is being monitored, and local residents have also been asked to remain vigilant.
