Ration Update : Big news for ration card holders. The food grain distribution ratio has changed. Beneficiaries will receive food grains in the new ratio starting in January. According to the National Food Security Act, food grains are being provided to Antyodaya and general category beneficiaries in a 1:4 ratio.
35 kg food grains (7 kg wheat and 28 kg rice) per month are being provided to Antyodaya families and five kg food grains (1 kg wheat and 4 kg rice) per person per month are being provided to general category beneficiaries. By the letter of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Department of Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, it has been directed to change the ratio of food grains being provided in the ratio of 1:4 to the ratio of 2:3 for the Antyodaya and General category beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act in the state.
Antyodaya families will be provided 14 kg wheat and 21 kg rice, a total of 35 kg food grains per month and beneficiaries of general household will be provided two kg wheat and three kg rice, a total of five kg food grains per person per month free of cost.
Meanwhile Ration cards will be made for eligible beneficiaries of the subdivision area by setting up camps in the panchayats and running a campaign in camp mode from 4 to 30 December 2025.
In light of the directives of the Food and Consumer Protection Department, eligible beneficiaries are to be covered under the National Food Security Act. For this purpose, ration cards are to be made by setting up camps in the block panchayats.
Giving this information, Sub-Divisional Officer Sharang Pani Pandey said that officers and employees have been deputed to make ration cards by running a campaign in camp mode in the panchayats of Benipatti, Bisfi, Harlakhi, Madhavapur blocks of the sub-division.
