According to media report, the Mumbai Cricket Association as saying, “Rohit has expressed his desire to play for Mumbai in the knockouts of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.” Rohit Sharma has taken this decision after retiring from T20 Internationals.

Rohit Sharma last played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in the 2011-12 season. This marks the end of approximately 14-15 years for him.

Former captain Virat Kohli has also decided to play domestic cricket. He will play for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He has informed the DDCA of his availability. In the Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Mumbai won all four of their league stage matches in Lucknow. The team topped Elite Group A with 16 points and has qualified for the knockout stage.
