Against Canada, Nilakanta Sharma opened the match with a goal in the fourth minute, followed by Rajinder Singh, who was in good form after making his senior team debut, in the 10th minute. Canada made some changes in their attack in the third quarter, which resulted in a penalty stroke in the 35th minute. Mathieu Sarmento put it into the post to make the score 7-2.

Meanwhile, Jugraj scored a hat-trick in the same quarter with a goal in the 39th minute. Selvam Karthi then scored in the 43rd minute to extend India’s lead to 9-2. The final quarter was a mere formality, but both teams scored more goals in it. Six goals were scored in this quarter.
Rohidas converted a penalty corner in the 46th minute, followed by Jugraj’s penalty stroke in the 50th minute. Both teams continued to earn penalty corners, and Canada also scored from them. Abhishek scored twice in the 57th and 59th minutes to finish the match on a high note.
