Marco Jansen is known for his lethal bowling in cricket, but at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, he delivered a blistering performance that would put even batsmen to shame. This tall, fast bowler wreaked havoc with the bat in the first innings of the second Test against India, etching his name in the pages of history.
Record breaking batting
Marco Jansen’s Big Record: Today is the third day of the ongoing Guwahati Test between India and South Africa. South Africa batted brilliantly in the first three days and put 489 runs on the board. The African batsmen defeated the Indian bowlers. On the second day, when the South African team needed quick runs in the first innings, Marco Jansen came to bat at number 9 and scored 93 runs in just 91 balls. During this, he hit 6 fours and 7 brilliant sixes. He remained just 7 runs short of his first Test century, but before that, he made a big record in his name.
Marco Jansen smashed seven sixes during his blistering 93-run innings. He now holds the record for most sixes in a Test innings against India on Indian soil. He shattered the 50-year-old record held by legendary Caribbean batsman Viv Richards, who had hit six sixes in an innings during the 1974 Delhi Test.
