The biggest trade in IPL history has been announced. Former Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson will be seen playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026, while CSK veteran Ravindra Jadeja and England’s Sam Curran have been included in RR’s team.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings franchise CEO Kasi Viswanathan has made a big statement regarding the ouster of Ravindra Jadeja from CSK. He explained why the franchise had to take this decision. Viswanathan said that this decision was difficult, but considering the team combination, this decision had to be taken. He also said that a long discussion has taken place with Jadeja regarding this matter.
CSK CEO made a big statement regarding Ravindra Jadeja
Kasi Viswanathan said that the team management felt the need for an Indian batsman in the top order. There won’t be many Indian batsmen available at the auction, so we thought the best way to acquire an Indian top-order batsman would be to buy him through the trade window. And so we had to make this decision, and it’s a decision made by the team management, and it’s a very difficult decision to leave Jaddu, who has been a key player in CSK’s success over the years.
He further stated that this was possibly one of the most difficult decisions CSK has made as a team management. Given the current changes CSK is going through, the team management made the most difficult decision. It was essential that we consult with the players concerned, and only after mutual consent did we make this decision. The CSK CEO further stated, “When I spoke to Jadeja, he clearly stated that if there’s an opportunity for him, he should definitely take it. He also feels he’s in the final stages of his white-ball career, so he also felt he could get a break. The fans will be very emotionally upset, as they’ve already received numerous messages from them.”
Kashi Vishwanathan made a big statement about Sanju
Regarding Sanju, he said, “He is one of the most experienced batsmen in the IPL, having scored over 4,500 runs and having also led the Rajasthan Royals. He has experience and is only 30 years old, so we thought he would be a good option for CSK for the future.”
