First, know the full details of the challan

To do this, go to the Transport Seva Portal (https://parivahan.gov.in) and enter your vehicle or driving license number to check the challan details. You will see the challan date, location, vehicle number, and photo. You will also find the department or official who issued the challan. If the information in the challan appears to be incorrect or the vehicle photo does not belong to you, a dispute can be filed.

File a Complaint on the Transport Seva Portal

To file a complaint about an incorrect challan, you must visit the Transport Seva or e-Challan website. Click on the ‘Get Challan Details’ option and enter your vehicle or driving license information. The challan information will then open. Click on the ‘Raise Dispute’ option.

Here, you must provide the reason for filing the complaint and upload evidence. You can upload dashcam footage, parking receipts, GPS logs, or photos as evidence to prove the challan is incorrect.

What happens after submission?

Once you submit your complaint, you will receive an acknowledgement number. You can track the status of your complaint using this number. If the evidence you provide is proven correct, the relevant department will cancel your challan. However, if the investigation determines that the challan was issued correctly, you will be required to pay a fine.
