Another record for Pakistan batting star Babar Azam. For a long time, the top order batter has been struggling to score notable amount of runs. But still, Azam has managed to encrypt yet another record in international cricket.

Pakistan’s star batsman and former captain Babar Azam has set a new record in international cricket. During his 27-run innings in the third ODI against South Africa in Faisalabad, Babar reached the 15,000-run mark. He now has a total of 15,004 runs across all three formats.

Babar has become the fifth Pakistani batsman to achieve this feat. 31-year-old Babar Azam has scored 4,366 runs in 61 Tests with nine centuries, 6,336 runs in 137 ODIs with 19 centuries, and 4,302 runs in 131 T20Is with three centuries. Babar is also the leading run-scorer in T20Is. He recently surpassed India’s Rohit Sharma to achieve this record in the T20I series against South Africa.

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq holds the record for most runs in international cricket, with 20,541. Former captain Younis Khan is second on the list, with 17,790 runs across all three formats. Mohammad Yousuf is third, with 17,134 runs. Javed Miandad is fourth with 16,213 runs.

Pakistan won the series

Pakistan won the first ODI against South Africa by 2 wickets. South Africa then won the second match by 8 wickets to level the series. Then, in the third ODI, Pakistan won by a resounding 7 wickets and secured the series victory. South Africa ‘s batsmen failed to perform well in the third ODI, resulting in the team being restricted to 143 runs. Pakistan later achieved the target easily. Sam Ayub played an innings of 77 runs for the team.

The record for most runs in international cricket is held by Sachin Tendulkar of India, who scored 34,357 runs in 664 matches. Second on the list is Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka, who scored 28,016 runs in 594 matches, while India’s Virat Kohli is third with 27,673 runs in 553 matches.
