Team India is leading the race to win the ongoing Australia vs India 5-match T20I series. India won the fourth match easily. Though in that match, India’s batting was little bit slow.
India captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 20 runs off 10 balls in the match. Abhishek, who had given the team a quick start, played a slow innings, prompting the captain to mock his low strike rate. While boarding the team bus before the final T20, Surya mocked Abhishek’s slow innings in front of reporters. He asked, “Have you ever seen a lion eating grass?” This comment was made on Abhishek’s innings, which was played at a strike rate of 133.33.
Abhishek Sharma, who had been decimating the Australian bowlers since the start of the series, scored just 28 runs from 21 balls. Abhishek usually bats at a strike rate of 200 or more, but in the Queensland T20I, Australia managed to restrict him due to the pitch.
He further said, βToday the lion was eating grass slowly.β India scored 167 for 8 in the fourth T20I. The Indian bowlers made even this small target difficult for Australia. The hosts were bowled out for 119 in 18.2 overs. Suryakumar admitted after the match that the pitch wasn’t a typical T20 wicket where a team could easily score over 200 runs.

Surya said after the match, “Credit to all the batsmen, especially Abhishek and Shubman. The way they started in the powerplay was smart; they quickly realized this wasn’t a typical 200-plus wicket. Everyone contributed, and it was a complete team effort with the bat. The message from outside was clear. Gauti bhai and I were on the same page. The bowlers adapted quickly, especially with a little dew.” After taking a 2-1 lead in the first four matches against Australia, India now have to win the final match on Saturday if they want to win the series.
