Sarfaraz Khan is in excellent form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and is breaking new records in every match. Now he has etched his name in the record books by scoring the fastest half-century in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Sarfaraz achieved this feat in just 15 balls.

In the match against Chandigarh, Sarfaraz came to the crease after the dismissal of his brother Mushir Khan, with Mumbai’s score at 57/1 in 8.2 overs. The right-handed batsman wasted no time in arriving at the crease, delivering a thrashing to Abhishek Sharma that he will likely never forget. Sarfaraz smashed 30 runs in Abhishek’s first over. He reached his half-century in just 15 balls, breaking a five-year-old record. He was eventually dismissed after scoring 62 runs off 20 balls, in which he hit seven fours and five sixes.

Apart from Sarfaraz, Mumbai captain Shreyas Iyer also played a quickfire knock of 45 runs off 34 balls, which included four fours and two sixes. Sarfaraz has been in excellent form in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 303 runs in five innings at an average of 75.75 and an impressive strike rate of 190.56, which includes one century and two half-centuries.
He recently smashed a 56-ball century against Goa, hitting nine fours and 14 sixes. The right-handed batsman smashed a brilliant 157 off 75 balls to help Mumbai post a mammoth 444/8 in their allotted 50 overs. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 329 runs in seven matches at an impressive strike rate of 203.08, including one century.

Mumbai bowled out Punjab for 216 in 45.1 overs, with Ramandeep Singh (72 off 74 balls) and Anmolpreet Singh (57 off 75 balls) being the top scorers. Mushir Khan was the most successful bowler for Mumbai, taking three wickets for 37 runs in 9.1 overs. However, despite brilliant innings from Sarfaraz and Iyer, Mumbai lost the match by one run, chasing 217, all out for 215 in 26.2 overs.
