Ajit Agarkar led selection committee announced T20 World Cup squad with some bold steps. Vice-captain Shubman Gill is out from the team, Sanju Samson joins the squad. On paper, the team looks strong. But what will be the playing XI?

Legendary Sunil Gavaskar picks India’s playing XI

The Indian team for the T20 World Cup has been announced. Players like Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, and Ishan Kishan have been included in the team. Meanwhile, players like Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been excluded. Gill has also been removed from the vice-captaincy and replaced by Axar Patel. Along with the team announcement, former Indian great Sunil Gavaskar has also given his opinion on India’s playing eleven.

Speaking on Star Sports, Gavaskar announced his playing eleven. He left out Rinku Singh and Ishan Kishan. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson are the openers. Tilak Varma is Gavaskar’s choice for No. 3. Gavaskar has included Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, and Axar Patel as all-rounders.

Meanwhile, Gavaskar has not included Washington Sundar in the playing eleven. Sunil Gavaskar has advocated for the inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy as spinners in the team. Furthermore, the former great has included Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh as fast bowlers. It should be noted that the T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on February 7th. The Indian team will play its first match in the T20 World Cup against the UAE on February 7th.
