The competition is going to be even more exciting in the Indian automobile market, as Maruti Suzuki has made a big announcement. The company plans to launch 8 new SUV models in India in the coming few years. The announcement was made by Suzuki Motor Corporation President Toshihiro Suzuki during Japan Mobility Show 2025.
The company aims to achieve 50% market share in India’s passenger vehicle segment by FY 2030-31. For this, Suzuki is going to invest around ₹70,000 crores in India in the next 5-6 years.

Maruti’s next mission
Let me tell you that Toshihiro Suzuki also said that India is no longer just a market for Suzuki but “the most important country ”. The company is preparing to bring new models to every segment in the coming years. Although he did not mention the name, the gesture was clear that incoming SUV models would be made keeping in mind all types of customers, whether budget-friendly or premium segments.

Production start
The company’s SUV launch may begin mid-2026. The first will be the Fronx Facelift which will see a new Strong Hybrid Powertrain. This will be followed by a full-size 7-seater SUV by the end of the year, which will directly compete with trains such as Hyundai Alcazar and Tata Safari.
In addition, reports also reported that Maruti is also working on a small and affordable Electric SUV. Although not much information has been revealed about it yet, it may be the company’s first affordable EV that will entice young buyers.
Export
Maruti Suzuki is not only paying attention to the Indian market but is also constantly making new records in export. The company’s export volume has increased by 3.3 times in the last 5 years.

In FY 2024-25, the company exported 3.3 lakh vehicles to countries such as Europe and Japan. And now it is estimated that this number will reach 4 lakh units by the end of this financial year. There is no doubt that India has become Suzuki’s largest production hub today.
