Maruti Suzuki is finally launching its first electric SUV, the E-Vitara, in India, the official debut of the company’s EV journey. After a long wait and several times being avoided, the company has decided to announce the prices on December 2, 2025. The special thing is that production has already started, and an initial 6,000 units have been shipped to Europe and the UK. This SUV made in Gujarat plant will be found in three variants and ten color options in India. This is a big step for Maruti as it is starting its big effort in the EV segment.

Price

The Maruti e-Vitara is expected to cost between ₹17 lakhs and ₹26 lakhs (ex-showroom), making it MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta EV, and Maruti’s own Jimny EV (coming soon Is) will bring in direct combat with such trains.

Battery

Maruti is offering two battery packs in E-Vitara – 48.8kWh and 61.1kWh. Both battery packs run from the same electric motor, and both models come with a front-wheel drive setup. Maruti claims that it can run for about 500 kilometers on full charge. Also, if you are in a hurry, its DC fast charger can charge the battery from 0 to 80 percent in just 50 minutes. This makes the fast charging speed and long range e-Vitara a reliable option for both driving and long highway trips in the city.

Performance

The performance of the Maruti e-Vitara is considered smooth and strong due to its motor setup and battery capacity. The front-wheel drive layout makes it a balanced and practical SUV. The EV platform will ensure faster acceleration and better torque delivery, which drivers will immediately feel, especially when driving in the city. Its stability and smooth driving experience during long highway runs make it a strong contender in its segment.

Features

In terms of features, Maruti has designed this SUV as a premium package. It is expected to have Level-2 ADAS, which makes driving safe and convenient. Features such as a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seat, electric sunroof and LED projector headlamps make this SUV modern and very comfortable. With Suzuki Connect technology, the car is always connected to the Internet, providing easy access to real-time alerts, remote features, and driving data. The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and seven airbags further strengthen its safety capability.
