The 2025 auto market is set to be a special one for Nissan fans. The long-awaited concept version of Nissan’s mid-size C-SUV will be unveiled on October 7, 2025. This SUV has already been spotted testing on Indian roads. Rumors suggest it will be called the Nissan Kait and will be a global model, exported to select international markets.

Design
The design of the new Nissan C-SUV will be inspired by the Patrol SUV. Spy images showed that the SUV would have a rugged and squirrel design, with vertical stance and strong front facia. It will be provided with Prominent Grill, C-Shape Elements, Inverted L-Shape Headlamps and DailyTime Running Lamps.

Integrators will get a new dashboard layout, according to Nissan’s Global Design theme. It will feature a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and digital driver display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, powered driver seat, ventilated front seats and LEVEL 2 ADAS technology.
Launch
Nissan has confirmed that the design of the new C-SUV will be revealed on 7 October 2025. At the same time, it is likely to be launched in the Indian market in mid-2026, possibly around July-August. The company plans to give this SUV a tough competition with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris and Grand Vitara due to its price and features.
Price
Nissan plans to make the price affordable by focusing on localization. It is estimated that the X-showroom price of the new C-SUV can be between about 10 lakh to 16 lakh rupees. This SUV will compete directly with trains such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris, Grand Vitara, incoming Renault Duster and Tata Sierra.

Engine
The new Nissan C-SUV will first come in petrol version. It is expected to have a 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, which will come with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT gearbox. In addition, a choice of 1.5L NA petrol or 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine can also be found.
The hybrid version will likely launch in 2027, using a 1.5L NA petrol engine, a small battery and electric motor. The global-space Duster features a hybrid system with a 94hp 1.6L petrol engine and 49hp electric motor, which can also be introduced in the Nissan C-SUV.

Safety
The new Nissan C-SUV also features a strong focus on safety. It features six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control, and other safety features. The SUV’s features and design make it distinct and attractive in its segment.
