Production and Flag-Off Event
This impressive electric SUV from Maruti Suzuki is being manufactured at its manufacturing plant in Gujarat. During the flag-off event, the company also inaugurated its first hybrid battery electrode manufacturing plant. This move clearly demonstrates the company’s intention to become an EV production hub not only for India but also for the global market.

Launch and Export Plans
According to reports, the Maruti e-Vitara will be launched in India in December 2025. The company began exporting the SUV from Pipavav Port in Gujarat in August 2025, with approximately 2,900 units shipped to 12 European countries. These countries include developed markets like the UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. This demonstrates Maruti Suzuki’s desire to establish a strong foothold not only in the Indian market but also in the global EV market.
Design and Platform
The Maruti e-Vitara was first introduced in Europe and later showcased to the Indian audience at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025. The SUV is built on the 40PL dedicated EV platform, co-developed with Toyota. The advantage of this platform is that it provides the SUV with excellent balance, safety, and efficiency. This is why the e-Vitara achieved a 4-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash test, a testament to its safety and robustness.
Power and Range
The e-Vitara will be offered in two battery options: a standard and a long-range variant. Reports suggest that this electric SUV can deliver a range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge. Maruti has specifically designed this SUV for Indian conditions, ensuring it meets customer expectations in terms of range, performance, and charging time.
