PAN Card is a very important document for all citizens of India. It can be needed for any money related work. By any chance of you lost your original PAN Card then will happen? To protect your document, there is a good way to apply.

If your PAN card (Permanent Account Number) has been lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged, there’s no need to worry. Now you can get a duplicate PAN card made online. Or, simply apply online for 10 rupees and it will arrive at your doorstep within a few days.

The Income Tax Department has now digitized the entire process, which has not only simplified the process but also allows you to download your e-PAN instantly. A PAN card is a 10-digit alphanumeric number issued by the Income Tax Department. It’s essential not only for tax filing but also for banking, loans, mutual funds, salary, and many other financial transactions. Therefore, if it’s lost, it’s crucial to obtain a new card as soon as possible.

If your card is lost or stolen, it’s best to file an FIR (First Information Report) at the nearest police station. This not only protects your PAN against misuse but also serves as a supporting document when applying for a duplicate PAN card. You can now apply for a duplicate PAN card online through two platforms: NSDL (now Protean eGov Technologies Ltd) and UTIITSL (UTI Infrastructure and Technology Services Ltd). The process is largely the same on both websites.

How to apply for a duplicate PAN card from NSDL?

First of all go to NSDL PAN Reprint Portal .

Enter your PAN number , Aadhaar number , and Date of Birth there .

Now select the correct option and click on ‘ Submit ‘.

Your details will then appear. Verify and proceed.

Now enter your registered mobile number or email ID for OTP verification.

Confirm by entering OTP.

You will now be asked to pay Rs 50. This is a nominal fee.

After successful payment, you will receive an Acknowledgement Receipt . Download it.

After this process, after about 24 hours, you can also download e-PAN from the same website.

Physical PAN card reaches your registered address within 15–20 days.
