Free Ration – Big news for Ration Card holders. The ration card verification campaign has resumed in Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar district. Initially, this campaign was initiated by going door-to-door to ensure cardholders’ eligibility, but due to the recent elections, this process was temporarily halted.

On the DM’s instructions, teams from the Kashipur Municipal Corporation and the Supply Department were combined to ensure that each cardholder was verified systematically. Campaign, a thorough scrutiny of ration cards has been underway for the past three days. Most cardholders were found eligible, while some ineligible card holders were identified and listed for necessary action. This is a clear indication that the government is serious about ensuring proper access to rations only to eligible beneficiaries.

What did the Food Supply Officer say?

Food Supply Officer Ashutosh Bhatt said that five teams are working for this. In the last three days, 298 ration cards from SFOY, 441 white ration cards, and 24 Antyodaya cards have been checked. Of these, 19 yellow ration cards were found ineligible, while 180 white ration cards and 11 Antyodaya cards were found ineligible. He said that a list of ineligible ration card holders will be posted at the Municipal Corporation and ration shops.

Notice will be issued against cardholders, giving them fifteen days to respond. Only after this period will a final decision be made and legal action taken against them. If anyone is found to be misusing rations despite being eligible, strict action will be taken against them, and the illegally obtained rations will be recovered.

This verification campaign is being conducted with complete transparency and fairness to ensure no injustice occurs. Any irregularities will not be tolerated, and immediate action will be taken against those violating the rules. Food Supply Inspector Ashutosh Bhatt also reported that many cardholders are trying to avoid verification and are expressing their inability to present their cards.

It was stated that ration distribution to such individuals will be immediately halted until they complete the full verification process. This strict measure aims to ensure that only eligible beneficiaries receive rations and to prevent any irregularities. This door-to-door campaign has clearly conveyed the message that the government’s priority is ensuring proper access to rations for the poor and needy.
