Indian Railways– Good news for railway passengers. For the convenience and safety of passengers, Indian Railways implements new rules from time to time. In this series, Indian Railways has implemented a new rule, which will benefit the railway passengers. Actually, now the attendance of TTE and TC will be taken through biometric system. This has been done first at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Junction. DDU is the first station of Indian Railways, where this hi-tech system has been implemented.
Where the new system has been implemented?
Along with East Central Railway, this system has been successfully implemented in zones like Northern Railway (Banaras Division), Western Railway (Ratlam Division), Central Railway (CSMT, Pune, Solapur), Eastern Railway (Malda), South Western Railway (Mysore), West Central Railway (Bhopal, Kota), Southern Railway (Madurai, Palghat, Trichy). This system is also going to be implemented soon in Jammu Division of Northern Railway.
How does the biometric attendance system work?
This biometric attendance system is Aadhaar based. In this, the sign-on and sign-off system will record the start and end time of the duty of the TTE/TC present in the lobby in real time. Through this, employees will mark their attendance through fingerprint or face scan. This process cannot be tampered with. This system is completely transparent and confidential.
Now fake attendance cannot be marked. Live data will be available on who is on duty and when. There will be integration with duty roster and handheld terminal, which will increase accountability. This will improve services, which will benefit the passengers. The accountability of TTE will be determined through biometric attendance system, which will further strengthen their commitment towards the passengers.
