To give a new direction to women’s empowerment, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has started this scheme under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA. Under this scheme, women are being given a subsidy to prepare gardens on their private land. The government is not only giving money to buy plants but is also providing 50,000 liters of water pond, fertilizer, digging pits, and fencing facilities.

Target of 31,300 women, but registration was 40,406

The state government had set an initial target of connecting 31,300 women with this scheme. But women were so enthusiastic about this scheme that 40,406 have applied so far. This scheme, which started on 15 August, will run till 15 September. A target of planting 30 lakh fruit trees has been set during this period.

How many got approval, and where will the budget be spent

So far, 10,162 women have received approval under the scheme, and the process of transferring the amount to their accounts has started. The state government has kept a budget of Rs 1000 crore for this scheme. It includes 313 blocks and 9662 gram panchayats.

Only those women can join this scheme who have at least 0.5 acres and a maximum of 1 acre of land. Women who make gardens on more or less land than this will not get the benefit of the scheme.

Khandwa district is at the forefront

So far, Khandwa district is number one in developing gardens. Singrauli, Betul, Dewas, and Agar Malwa districts are included in the top 5. If we talk about blocks, then Khandwa, Chitrangi, Pandhana, Punasa, and Khalwa blocks are in the lead.
