According to a BNO News report, 64 people were on the American Airlines passenger plane, and three were on the army helicopter.

At the time of this accident, the flight was at an altitude of about 400 feet and a speed of about 140 miles per hour. The FAA confirmed that DC Fire and EMS said on social media that fireboats were deployed at the scene. The FAA explained that this PSA Airlines flight took off from Kansas.
