UP Employees’ Bonus: If you are a government employee in Uttar Pradesh, this news may be of particular interest to you. The Yogi government has announced a 30-day bonus for eligible employees for the financial year 2025-2026. Under this announcement, employees can receive a maximum bonus of ₹6,908. This government decision will benefit approximately 14 lakh employees.
Following approval from CM Yogi Adityanath, the Finance Department has issued an order regarding this. According to the order, 75% of the bonus amount will be deposited into the employees’ Provident Fund (PF) accounts, while the remaining 25% will be provided in cash. Let’s look at which employees will be eligible for this benefit.
Which employees will receive the bonus?
According to the government, the 30-day bonus will be provided to state government employees. This also includes staff from aided educational institutions, aided technical educational institutions, local bodies, Zila Panchayats, and work-charged employees in government departments. The bonus will be applicable to non-gazetted employees holding positions up to ‘Level 8’ of the pay scale. Under the old pay structure, this corresponds to a grade pay of ₹4,800.
What is the maximum bonus amount?
The government has set a maximum limit of ₹7,000 on the monthly emoluments of employees for the purpose of calculating the bonus. The 30-day bonus will be calculated based on this figure. Consequently, employees can receive a maximum bonus of ₹6,908. However, the actual bonus amount will be determined based on the individual employee’s eligibility and the specific calculation.
Maximum bonus of up to ₹6,908
According to the government order, the maximum limit for an employee’s monthly emoluments, used for calculating the bonus, has been set at ₹7,000. The 30-day bonus will be calculated based on this criterion.
What are the conditions for the bonus?
To avail of the bonus provided by the state government, employees must meet certain conditions. They must have completed at least one year of service by March 31, 2026. Additionally, they must be employed in a position at or below the designated ‘Matrix Level-8’. Employees who began their service during the 2025-2026 period, or those who have been convicted in a criminal case, are not eligible for the bonus. However, for employees facing pending disciplinary or legal proceedings, the bonus will still be paid.
Bonus for daily-wage employees
The government has also included daily-wage employees in this bonus scheme. If an employee has completed three years of service by March 31, 2026, or has worked for at least 250 days in a year, they are eligible. Furthermore, for those following a 5-day work week, an employee who has worked for 206 days in a year will receive a payment of 1,200 rupees. Based on this calculation, the total bonus amount would be 1,184 rupees.
