MP Chief Minister’s Registry Scheme: The Madhya Pradesh government has launched an initiative to grant property rights to residents in rural areas. Many individuals possess a lease (patta) for their houses or plots but lack a formal, registered deed. To address this, a special property registration drive is being conducted under the Chief Minister’s Registry Scheme.

On the occasion of Dhanteras—November 6, 2026—Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav participated in this drive in the village of Karua, located in the Morena district. The primary objective of this initiative is to provide rural families with valid legal documentation for their properties and to simplify the registration process.

What are the benefits under the Chief Minister’s Registry Scheme?
The Chief Minister’s Registry drive facilitates the registration of houses and properties in rural areas. Individuals who hold a lease (patta) for their property but do not yet have a formal registered deed are eligible to benefit. A key feature of this government scheme is that the stamp duty and registration fees for eligible properties are covered by the government; beneficiaries are not required to pay these costs out of their own pockets.

Target of 2 million registrations by November 15
The Madhya Pradesh government has set a target to complete the registration of 2 million (20 lakh) properties by November 15, 2026. As part of this ongoing drive, eligible residents in rural areas are being encouraged to register their properties. So far, more than 1.7 million (17 lakh) registrations have already been completed across the state.

Benefits for families
Once the registration is complete, eligible individuals will possess formal legal documents for their property. This will also make it significantly easier to obtain bank loans—though the actual approval of any loan will depend on the bank’s specific eligibility criteria and terms. Furthermore, individuals are relieved of the financial burden associated with registration costs.

Who is eligible for the Chief Minister’s Registry Scheme?
The benefits of this Madhya Pradesh government initiative are available to eligible individuals living in rural areas who own houses or other types of property. Eligibility will be determined based on a property survey and official government records. If you hold a *patta* (land allotment document) for a property in a village but do not have a formal registered deed, you should contact your *patwari* (village land record officer) or officials from the Revenue Department. They will be able to inform you whether or not your property falls within the scope of this campaign.
