Unlike the existing model (IMV platform), the new Toyota Fortuner will be based on TNGA-F architecture. Additionally, the regenerative braking system is expected to improve its overall performance.

Powertrain

The new Toyota Fortuner will be available with both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and 4X4 drivetrain configurations. The mild hybrid powertrain will be paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.8-litre diesel with 4X4 setup will be capable of delivering a mileage of 12.65 kmpl. Whereas the mild hybrid version of the engine is claimed to give a mileage of 13.15 km per liter.
