Honda Shine 100: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) launched the Honda Shine 100 in the Indian market a year ago. Available for only Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi), this affordable bike has been a game changer in the commuter segment

Design and dimensions

This bike will not attract you much in terms of design, because the company has developed it as an economical commuter bike. Its look is completely inspired by Honda Shine 125

It has angular halogen headlamps, attractive body graphics and five-spoke alloy wheels. Weighing 99 kg, this bike is a better option for daily commuting. It has a 677 mm long seat, with a seat height of 786 mm

Features and color options

The Honda Shine 100 gets a basic analog instrument cluster, which has read-outs for the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge and tell-tale lights. Honda Shine 100 is based on the new Diamond frame

It has telescopic front forks and dual spring-loaded shock absorbers at the rear. For braking duties, it has a 130mm drum unit at the front and 110mm drum brake at the rear. It has been provided with Combined Braking System (CBS) as standard

Engine and Performance

Honda Shine 100 is powered by a 98.98cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This powertrain produces 7.28 bhp at 7500 RPM and peak torque of 8.05 Nm at 5,000 RPM. The engine comes with a 4-speed manual gearbox. It runs on E-20 fuel with latest OBD-2 norms

In terms of performance, the Honda Shine 100 offers a great entry-level pick-up, which is great for city riding. This new engine of Honda is quite smooth and refined. Apart from this, the clutch of the vehicle is very light and gearshifting is also very easy
