Hector Black Storm Edition:- MG Motor launched the Black Storm Edition of its flagship SUV Hector on April 10. This model is based on the Sharp Pro trim of the SUV. It comes in 5-way, 6-way and 7-way configurations. The Black Storm Edition is priced at Rs 22.75 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most expensive SUV.

What the company says

The MG Hector Black Storm is the third special model launched by the automaker in India. MG Motor had previously launched the Black Storm versions of the Aster and Gloster SUVs. The Black Storm Edition is the all-black version of MG Motor’s popular model. Some cosmetic changes have been made to the exterior and interior of the Hector Black Storm. Most of the updates are similar to those from the automaker’s other Black Storm variants.

Reduced Chrome Highlights

As the name of the model suggests, the Hector Black Storm Edition has an all-black exterior with local red details, giving it a stylish look. Most of the chrome accents on the SUV have been renewed. Instead, it has a diamond-mesh front grille with a dark chrome rhombus pattern, dark chrome inserts on the skirt, a dark chrome trunk lid and dark chrome branding with chrome plating.

Interior and exterior design

18 inch Alloy Wheels Hector SUV comes with the largest 14 inch touchscreen infotainment screen in its segment. There are also other functions such as a 7.0-inch digital driving display, panoramic sunroof, air seats and electric driver’s seat. Talking about the features, Hector Black Storm also comes with ADAS technology, 360-degree camera, 6 airbags and automatic turn signal, which was introduced in the facelift model.

Engine Powertrain

The SUV will continue to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. While the gasoline version has a 6-speed CVT transmission, the diesel version has a 6-speed manual transmission. The gasoline engine produces 142 hp power and 250 Nm maximum torque. The diesel version produces 170 hp power and 350 Nm maximum torque.

What is the price?

The price of the Hector SUV starts at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the model variant. The SUV is offered in 5 trims and 18 different versions, in addition to the Black Storm version. MG recently launched two new Hector SUVs. The Shine Pro and Select Pro variants sit in the middle of the portfolio and come with premium options. The top-end Savvy Pro variant of the Hector is priced at Rs 22.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hector Black Storm model is priced at Rs 22.75 lakh (ex-showroom), which is around Rs 60,000 more than the top model.
