Shreyas Iyer, who was injured while taking a catch in the ODI series against Australia, recently posted a new post about his condition. Iyer’s injury was serious, with rib injuries and internal bleeding leaving him in critical condition. He was admitted to the ICU in Australia. Iyer has been in trumendous form since the beginning of 2025. He played well in IPL 2025 and for team and as well. Just when cricket fans were expecting more from him, he got seriously injured.
Iyer posted a recent photo on Monday, expressing his feelings. He thanked his well-wishers. Iyer suffered the injury in the third and final ODI on October 26th in Sydney, while taking a catch from Alex Carey.

Iyer posted a photo on Instagram on Monday, sitting on a beach. Wearing a blue cap and sunglasses, Iyer is seen smiling. “The sun therapy is great. Glad to be back. Thank you all for your love and care,” Iyer wrote in his post.However, Iyer is still recovering and there is no word yet on when he will be fit to play. He is currently enjoying his holidays and resting.
Iyer is the vice-captain of the ODI team
Iyer is the vice-captain of India’s ODI team. He was given this responsibility during the Australia tour. He is a key member of India’s ODI team. Iyer is waiting to secure a place in the team in all three formats. Although he has made his presence felt for India in all three formats, he has not yet secured a place in any team other than ODIs.
