Veteran Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli played the ODI series against the host team on the Australia tour. In this series, while Rohit Sharma gave a wonderful performance with the bat and gave a chance to all his fans to rejoice, Virat Kohli, who failed to open his account in the first two matches, showed by playing an unbeaten inning of 74 runs in the last match that his hunger for runs has not diminished yet.
However, keeping in mind their upcoming commitments in international cricket, Cheteshwar Pujara has now warned both the cricketers and said that it will be challenging for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who have reached the last stage of international cricket, to regain their rhythm after a long break.
Cheteshwar Pujara warned Rohit and Virat
He further said, “If you’re playing in the same format, the series will be crucial for both. They need to stay engaged, otherwise, playing after a long break will be more challenging. I have experience playing only one format. Based on this, I can say that regaining rhythm is crucial for playing international cricket after a long break. Due to their age, they will have to work harder, which they are doing. Both have scored runs and hopefully, they will continue playing until the 2027 World Cup.”
What did Cheteshwar Pujara say about Shami?
On Mohammed Shami’s omission from Team India, Cheteshwar Pujara said, “I can’t answer that. I mean, the selectors and team management should be honest with him. What are the plans going forward? Do they want to pick him or are they considering younger players?”
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from Test and T20 International cricket, although they continue to play ODI cricket. As such, they will now be seen playing in the three-match ODI series against South Africa. Let us tell you that a three-match ODI series will be played between India and South Africa. The first match between the two teams will be played on November 30 in Ranchi, the second on December 3 in Raipur, and the third on December 6 in Visakhapatnam.
