Indian cricket team’s legendary batsman Rohit Sharma has achieved another historic milestone in international cricket. Taking the field in the decisive ODI against New Zealand at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, Rohit completed his 100th ODI appearance on Indian soil.

With this, he has joined the elite club that already includes legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Although his bat did not perform well in this home series against New Zealand and he scored only 61 runs in three matches at an average of 20.33, his overall record on home grounds is much better.

On Indian soil, Rohit has scored a total of 5074 runs in 99 innings of 100 matches at an impressive average of 55.75, which includes 14 centuries and 24 half-centuries. After the Indore ODI match, Rohit Sharma has become the 6th player to play the most ODI matches on Indian pitches.

Looking back at Rohit Sharma’s ODI career, he has scored 11,577 runs in 282 matches at an average of 48.85. His career includes 33 centuries and 3 double centuries, with his highest individual score of 264 against Sri Lanka still a world record.

Starting as a middle-order batsman, Rohit’s promotion to opener in 2013 proved to be a masterstroke, transforming him into a monster in ODI cricket. He has taken Indian cricket to new heights not only with his batting but also with his captaincy, with the 2024 T20 World Cup and 2025 Champions Trophy titles being his most notable achievements.
After announcing his retirement from Test and T20 Internationals, Rohit remains the Indian team’s most reliable player in ODIs. Prior to the New Zealand series, Rohit Sharma performed well in the ODI series against Australia and South Africa.
