Pakistan has white washed Sri Lanka in the three-match ODI series. Pakistan won the third and final ODI of the series, played in Rawalpindi on the evening of November 16th, by six wickets. With this, they captured the ODI series 3-0. Fast bowler Haris Rauf was the hero of Pakistan’s ODI series win, wreaking havoc and taking nine wickets.

Before winning the third ODI of the series against Sri Lanka by 6 wickets, Pakistan had won the first ODI by 6 runs and the second ODI by 8 wickets. In the third and final ODI, Sri Lanka, batting first, failed to complete the full 50 overs. The entire Sri Lankan team was all out for just 211 runs in 45.2 overs. Pakistan was set a simple target of 212 runs, which they chased down in 44.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Mohammad Rizwan once again emerged as the architect of Pakistan’s run chase, top-scoring with 61 runs and remaining unbeaten.

Haris Rauf, who performed brilliantly with the ball and took 9 wickets, was named Player of the Series. He took these 9 wickets throughout the series. Haris Rauf took 4 wickets in the first ODI against Sri Lanka, while he took 3 wickets in the second ODI. In the final and third ODI, Rauf took 2 wickets for 38 runs in 9 overs. After being selected as the Player of the Series, Haris Rauf also received a reward of Rs 5 lakh Pakistani currency, which is equivalent to Rs 1.57 lakh in Indian rupees.

Mohammad Wasim Jr. was named Player of the Match in the third and final ODI, taking 3/47 in 10 overs. After winning the ODI series, Pakistan will now play in a T20 tri-series, with Sri Lanka as one of the remaining two teams. Zimbabwe will be the third team in the tri-series.
