Lucknow Super Giants have received great news: star pacer Mayank Yadav has returned to the team camp after recovering from injury. The fast bowler is also likely to return to match action soon. LSG announced Mayank’s return with a special video on their social media handle, raising hopes among fans that it will strengthen their bowling attack.
Mayank was previously out of Team India and LSG’s IPL 2025 matches due to back and leg injuries. He had been undergoing rehab at the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. However, the 22-year-old checked into the team hotel on the night of Tuesday, April 15, and began preparing to be available for LSG’s upcoming match against the Rajasthan Royals on April 19.
Made His International Debut Against Bangladesh
Mayank Yadav earned his place in India’s T20 squad after his strong performances in IPL 2024. He made his international debut against Bangladesh and picked up 4 wickets in 3 matches, showing great potential at the international level.
However, a back strain injury forced him to miss the start of IPL 2025. After months of rehab, Mayank is finally back in the LSG camp and could return to action in the upcoming match against the Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.
Mayank’s Return Could Solve Lucknow’s Bowling Problem
Lucknow Super Giants are now waiting for the final clearance from their medical team. Mayank’s return is expected to strengthen the bowling attack, which has been a weak spot this season.
LSG had a slow start in IPL 2025 but have improved, winning 4 out of 7 matches so far, and are now in fifth place on the points table. With Mayank back, the team hopes to fix their bowling issues ahead of the crucial clash against the Rajasthan Royals.
