Every season of the IPL brings some new change or surprise. Last season, the KKR team made a record by successfully chasing the biggest target in IPL history. But in the current season, the Punjab Kings defended the smallest target.
It was a coincidence that this match was also against Kolkata. The KKR team, led by Ajinkya Rahane, failed to chase a target of just 112 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal destroyed KKR’s batting lineup, and the team was all out for 95 runs in just 15.1 overs. In the end, Punjab Kings won the match by 16 runs.
After the match, when players from both teams were shaking hands, Rahane was seen insulting his own team in front of Shreyas. This moment was captured in a viral video, and fans believe it shows Rahane’s frustration with his team’s performance.
Ajinkya Rahane Admits Team’s Mistake in Front of Shreyas
On Tuesday, the batsmen struggled to score runs on the Mullanpur pitch. Punjab Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 16 runs. After the match, when Rahane and Shreyas came to shake hands, a viral video showed Rahane admitting his team’s poor performance.
Rahane’s Honest Reaction Caught on Camera
While shaking hands, Rahane spoke to Shreyas in his Mumbai style, saying — ‘Kay faaltu batting keli na aamhi’ — which means ‘We batted so badly’ in Hindi. He tried to smile during the conversation, but the disappointment was clearly visible on his face.
Was watching the #PBKSvKKR game and caught this funny bit as Shreyas and Rahane shook hands at the end. In a self-deprecating way Rahane appears to be saying to Shreyas in Marathi : काय फालतू बॅटिंग केली ना आम्ही (We played terrible, didn’t we) 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/bNkC7TXGbU

Punjab’s Strong Start But Sudden Collapse
Punjab Kings won the toss and chose to bat first. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh gave the team a quick start. But after that, the batting lineup collapsed. Shashank Singh scored only 18 runs, and the entire team was all out for 111 runs in 15.3 overs.
KKR’s Chase Ended in Disappointment
In reply, Kolkata also struggled while chasing the small target. Their batting lineup failed, and the whole team was bowled out for just 95 runs in 15.1 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi was the top scorer for KKR, with 37 runs.
