At one point, however, the atmosphere did turn heated.
Jai Shri Ram” Slogans Raised Outside Mamata Banerjee’s Residence
Outside Mamata Banerjee’s office, BJP workers raised slogans of “Jai Shri Ram.” The slogan-shouting workers, who were riding on motorcycles, were directed to move along by a police officer stationed at the spot. Nevertheless, Mamata Banerjee is currently leading in the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency; however, across the state, her party appears to be facing a crushing defeat at the hands of the BJP.
Mamata Banerjee May Meet the Governor
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is currently present at the counting centre. Suvendu Adhikari is already present at the venue. Counting in Bhabanipur has been halted for approximately one hour. Meanwhile, there is speculation that Mamata Banerjee may proceed to the Raj Bhavan to tender her resignation from the post of Chief Minister.
Mamata Banerjee Levels Serious Allegations
Upon arriving at the Shekhawat Memorial counting centre, CM Mamata Banerjee levelled serious allegations against the BJP. Mamata Banerjee alleged that the BJP is attempting to “loot” their counting centre.
TMC Trailing Significantly
It is worth noting that, as of now, the West Bengal Assembly election results appear to be dealing a severe blow to Mamata Banerjee. According to the latest trends, the BJP is leading in 196 seats, while the Trinamool Congress is leading in 92 seats. The performance of the Congress and the Left parties remains dismal.
