The next season of the Women’s Premier League is about to begin. This will be the fourth season of the tournament. Indian cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana will face each other in the opening match.

The fourth season of the WPL 2026 is set to begin on January 9th. The opening day will feature a match between the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the Mumbai Indians team as always, while Smriti Mandhana will captain RCB. Both players will give their all to ensure victory for their respective teams.

 

In WPL 2026, evening matches will start at 7:30 PM, while day matches will start at 3:30 PM. This season of the Women’s Premier League, as we told you, is starting on January 9th. It will continue till February 5th. That means, on the same day night, it will be known which team is the champion of this tournament. There is only one match on the first day, which will start at 7:30 in the evening. The toss will take place half an hour before that. But on the second day of the tournament, i.e. Saturday, two matches will be played. The day’s match will start at 3:30 in the afternoon,

This tournament has been played three times so far. The first Women’s Premier League was held in 2023, when the Mumbai Indians, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, won it. Subsequently, in 2025, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by Smriti Mandhana, also won the tournament.

In 2025, the Mumbai Indians returned to the tournament, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur. It remains to be seen whether one of these two teams emerges victorious this year or whether a new team emerges victorious.
