According to the BCCI press release, Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel (Axar Patel Fined 12 Lakhs Rupees by BCCI) was found guilty of breaking IPL rules under Article 2.2. During match number 29 against Mumbai Indians at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi Capitals maintained a slow over-rate.
The press release said:
“As this was his team’s first offense of the season under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which relates to minimum over rate offenses, Patel was fined ₹12 lakh.”
Axar Patel Failed to Impress Against Mumbai
In this match, Axar bowled two overs and gave away 19 runs. He did not take any wickets.
With the bat, Axar started well and hit two boundaries. But Jasprit Bumrah dismissed him, and Suryakumar Yadav made the catch. Axar scored 9 runs off 6 balls.
