However, the official date for the launch of this ATM withdrawal facility has not yet been announced.

Find Out When the Announcement Will Be Made

The specific amount that PF subscribers will be able to withdraw via ATMs has not yet been announced. Senior official sources within the Ministry of Labour confirmed this development, stating that the testing and preparatory phases for launching the ATM service have been largely completed. On May 30th, the Modi government will complete 12 full years in office.

The Ministry is actively working to launch this crucial facility. Furthermore, once operational, this facility will provide EPF members with the option to withdraw funds using the ATM cards linked to their respective bank accounts. The primary objective is to facilitate easy access for members to their accumulated EPF savings, enabling them to meet immediate emergency needs without requiring approval from their employers. This will allow them to withdraw funds directly and without any bureaucratic hurdles.

Interest Earned by PF Subscribers

An official associated with the matter stated that, in addition to linking PF accounts with ATMs, the system is also being integrated with UPI to enable the instant transfer of funds directly to bank accounts.

Meanwhile, there is a growing anticipation regarding the 8.25% interest rate declared on EPF savings. The Ministry of Labour is currently awaiting approval from the Ministry of Finance to credit the 8.25% interest declared by the EPF for the 2025-26 fiscal year into the accounts of its 70 million members. The government could transfer this amount into the accounts at any moment.

When Will the Interest Be Credited?

According to sources within the Ministry, the letter from the Finance Ministry approving the interest rate has not yet been received. It is expected that this process will be completed shortly. Furthermore, the EPFO has made all necessary preparations to promptly credit the interest amount to the accounts. As soon as the letter from the Finance Ministry is received, the process of depositing the funds will be expedited.
