After breaking Rohit Sharma’s record, Babar Azam breaks Virat Kohli’s record, know about the record

Babar Azam trying his best to make his T20I comeback memorable. With his match winning knock, the Pakistan batting star break several record. We already knew about that Babar broke a Rohit Sharma’s record. With that feat, he also overtakes Virat Kohli in the record list.

Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam, who returned to the T20 team after nearly eight months, made a strong comeback in the third and final match of the T20 series against South Africa. Babar hadn’t done much in the first two matches of the series. He was dismissed without opening his account in the first match and scored just 11 runs in the second. However, in the third T20 match, he batted brilliantly and scored 68 runs off 47 balls, hitting nine fours.

Pakistan won the match with the help from Babar Azam

Thanks to his brilliant innings, Pakistan won the match by 4 wickets and secured the series 2-1. With this brilliant half-century, Babar not only led Pakistan to victory but also broke a world record held by Indian batting legend Virat Kohli. He has now become the number-one T20I batsman. Babar Azam scored his 13th half-century in the third T20I match against South Africa. With this, Babar has set a major record in T20I cricket. He has now become the batsman with the most 50+ scores in T20Is. In this regard, Babar has broken Virat Kohli’s world record. Babar has a total of 40 fifty-plus scores in T20Is so far, while Kohli has scored 39 fifty-plus scores and has also retired from T20I cricket.

Speaking of the match, Pakistan won the toss in the third T20I and elected to bowl first. South Africa, batting first, scored 139 runs. In response, Pakistan easily chased down the target, thanks to a brilliant innings (68) from Babar Azam. He was awarded the Player of the Match for this outstanding performance. With this victory, Pakistan won the three-match T20I series 2-1.

Babar Azam made his T20I debut for Pakistan in 2016. Babar is one of the team’s most reliable batsmen. He has scored over 4,300 runs in T20Is, including three centuries and 37 half-centuries. He has captained Pakistan, winning 48 of his 85 matches. Under his captaincy, Pakistan reached the final of the 2022 T20 World Cup, but lost to England.
