Abhishek Sharma hit 29 runs off his eight balls at an economy of 21.75, and Ramandeep Singh scored 15 runs off his six balls at an economy of 15. Meanwhile, Sanvir Singh scored 10 runs off his four balls, while Prabhsimran Singh scored 6 runs off his six balls.
Punjab opener Abhishek Sharma took an aggressive approach from the start of the match, hammering the bowlers. He reached his half-century in just 12 balls and his century in 32. He faced 52 balls and played an explosive innings of 148 runs, hitting 8 fours and 16 sixes. He was caught by Bijoy off Akash Deep.
Batting first, Punjab scored 310 runs in 20 overs for the loss of five wickets, thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s 148 runs and Prabhsimran Singh’s 70 runs. This is the second time in the history of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy that a team has scored 300+ runs. The best score in an innings in this tournament is 349/5, which was made by Baroda team last year. By scoring 310 runs, Punjab has now broken its previous best score record of 275/6 in 2023.
